Philosophy of Education

ICHS operates under the premise that all truth is God’s truth (Psalms 31:5); therefore, God’s Word is the starting point for all that is taught. All truth, whether known or unknown by man, comes from God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. In addition to the study of God’s word, God’s creation is systematically studied in the Christian School curriculum. The study of man’s language, literature, artistic achievements, record of history, logic of mathematical reasoning, natural sciences, and cultural expressions are done from this perspective – God’s word is true. This permeates all subject matter, and is taught by persons who adhere to this Christian worldview.

As Christian educators, a diversity of methods and means are used to produce well educated students. Christian methodology rejects any method contrary to the principles of Scripture.  The Christian teacher stands as a representative of God (1 Thess 1:6) and the character and conduct of faculty is important. In addition, mastery of subject and resourcefulness in presentation is essential. Faculty must also display a servant’s heart and loving authority over the students. All faculty must be a born again Christian and subscribe to the school’s doctrinal position.

Core Beliefs

We believe in…

The Triune God

Father, Son, Holy Spirit; eternally co-existing as one God in three equal persons; He is far beyond our full comprehension in His person and character.

The Gospel

That the full and complete atonement for sin by the substitutionary death of Jesus in place of sin; His shed blood and death on the cross is the full payment for sin; and in salvation by grace, through faith in Jesus who died for our sins and rose again for our justification.

The Bible

In the full inspiration of the Old and New Testaments in the original manuscripts; that the entire Bible in its 66 books, is infallible and inerrant, and is the complete revelation of God to man. “Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Rev. 5:9

Resurrection

In the last days, those who have trusted in Christ as savior will be raised from the dead and received into eternal heaven. Those who have never received Christ as their savior will be sent to eternal punishment in Hell.

Jesus

In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth, adding to himself full humanity, so that, through the incarnation, He is fully God and fully man; and in His death on the cross and bodily resurrection, from the dead three days later.

The Return of Christ

Following the resurrection, we believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take his church to be with Him in heaven, forever.
