Recap of 2nd Annual Fall Fundraiser
Once again the Annual Fall Fundraiser was a wonderful celebration of all that the Lord is doing in and through International Christian High School. Through the events of the evening, the Lord abundantly blessed us with just over $43,000 to help fund tuition scholarships for our students! This amount will, on average, help over 14 students attend ICHS!
On October 27th, ICHS hosted our 2nd Annual Fall Fundraising Event. The night included both a silent and live auction, a presentation about the mission and vision of our school, and an inspiring message by Erick Stakelbeck, the News Director at TBN. Erick shared with the audience about his experiences of growing up in Northeast Philadelphia and his conversion to Christianity. By using quick snapshots of his adolescence and young adulthood, Erick was able to help those in attendance see the need for a refugee like International Christian High School.
The idea of ICHS being a refugee to our students was further emphasized through the stories shared by Tymir and Natassia via video. Both of these students were able to communicate with our audience the value that specific teachers have had on their lives. For Tymir, Mr. Gaines has been a spiritual mentor, someone he can model his life after. For Natassia, Ms. Ridout has been a listening ear and an encouragement to believe in herself. These two stories served the important purpose of giving our audience a glimpse into the daily life of ICHS. Regularly students comment, unprompted, about how much their teachers mean to them, how much they have challenged them, and how much they have helped them grow as individuals. We were so thankful to be able to share with so many how our faculty and staff are daily contributing to making ICHS a safe caring environment that is centered on Christ.
If you volunteered, prayed over, or donated in any way to ICHS through this event we would like to extend a huge thank you! The event and the success of it could not have been possible without you all. We consider it a great privilege to be able to share about the ministry of our school and we are thankful for your partnership. If you were unable to attend the event, please know you were greatly missed, however, it is not too late to be a part of all that the Lord is doing here at ICHS!
